With the recession in full swing, many Americans have had to scale back significantly on living expenses and luxuries that at one time didn’t seem to lavish. I, for one, have forgone bi-monthly pedicures and cocktails out, opting instead for happy hour at home and painting my own toes. I have also become a fervent coupon clipper and purchase mostly generic brand foods, but the one thing I won’t give up, is my gym membership. The benefit of working off a long, stressful day far outweighs the $20 I spend each month for membership.
